My Parents’ Edge Coaching Programs are specifically designed to put you in the driver’s seat, to help you feel secure in your parenting and most importantly, to produce measurable results for your teen and your family.
The strategies in my coaching programs work whether you are faced with a series of seemingly minor incidents that leave you feeling defeated and drained as a parent or your teen is speeding down the road towards delinquency and you are at wits’ end.
The interventions I teach have passed the test of the ultimate experts — parents like you — who have time-tested them and tested them again as I used them in the school system as a vice principal in a middle school, then fine-tuned them as in intervention strategist working in the dropout prevention field. The bottom line is that these strategies have been proven over and over work.
As a parent myself, I know you need support that recognizes you are not a bad parent. Your child’s behavior is their choice. You need help in helping them to manage their choices, not judgment.
The strategies in the Parents’ Edge Coaching Programs did not emerge from the lofty towers of academia; they came from the trenches of working with at-risk youth and their families. And while they rest firmly on the foundation set by Human Needs Psychology, they are free of psycho-babble, offering straight-forward specific steps and strategies designed to help you be an effective parent while keeping your teen from reeling out of control.
The U.S. Census Bureau estimates 11 million households contain teens who have exhibited problem behaviors such as bullying, violence, drug or alcohol abuse, truancy, teen pregnancy, gang affiliation and more. For some teens the behavior never goes beyond the one-time experimentation. For others, they easily cross the line entering the out of control or chronic state.
As a coach, I recognize that families come in all compositions and all sizes. These strategies work whether you are a single parent, a step-parent, a grandparent, foster parent, co-parenting with a disgruntled ex, or just a regular tired, burnt out couple.
I also recognize that one-size doesn’t fit all when it comes to addressing teen issues and the three levels of support I offer allows me to custom-fit the program and the strategies to fit the circumstances you are experiencing.
Each program is customized to your family’s individual needs and is based on your short-term or long-term goals in parenting your Teen on the Edge:
- Emergency Intervention Support gives you powerful and immediate intervention to stop a crisis in its tracks.
- Parenting 911 – Designed to strengthen your parenting skills and reel your teen back from the edge of reckless, defiance and misbehavior. Stops chronic and problem behavior with the first session and set a plan of parenting in place that puts you in control, not your teen.
- 21st Century Parenting: New Times, New Teens, New Challenges – times have changed since you were a teen. Learn the world your teen lives in and the parenting support needed to help them navigate turbulent waters and come out a successful responsible young adult.
